E-Motion AI City - Premiere at the 17th Venice Biennale of Architecture

E-motion-AI City is an experimental art film created in collaboration with Hong Kong’s ChinaChem Group for the Venice Biennale 2021, responding to the theme“How will we live together?”

At a time when algorithms increasingly shape our daily lives, the film reflects on home, emotion, and the built environment as sites of resistance to a post-AI world. It unfolds through the wandering eyes of a two-year-old flâneuse, and later, her grown-up self retracing the topography of her birthplace. This psycho-geographic journey offers a poetic counterpoint to the logic of data and automation, suggesting that memory, movement, and emotional connection to place remain essential to human experience. Blurring documentary, fiction, and philosophy, E-motion-AI City meditates on how we might reclaim agency and intimacy in the face of an algorithm-driven future, grounding us in the emotional fabric of cities where living together is not only possible but deeply felt.
